OLD TIMEY RAGS
Born and raised in North Tonawanda, currently living on the battlefield of Gettysburg, PA, and soon to be returning to WNY; there is a man who is devoted to history currently working in the entertainment industry.
HBO’s “John Adams”, Netflix’s “House of Cards”, and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah”, are just a few of the projects that lifetime historian, Guy William Gane III, has helped coordinate, cast, or consult. As an actor he has been featured in projects that range from historical to horror genres, most notably History Channel’s “Sherman’s March” and the #2 horror film of 2015 - “We Are Still Here".

Guy is a gifted tailor, specializing in historic eras following up to and including the Vietnam war. In 2013, Guy was approached to help coordinate and cast local talent to work on a film about the cadets from Virginia Military Institute, called “Field of Lost Shoes”, kicking off Gane’s company Old Timey Casting, LLC.
In 2016, Guy worked an historical producer on the film, “Mohawk” on Netflix; he followed up with a promotional film for the Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Association. He is currently working as historical producer on the upcoming mini-series, “Lincoln” for CNN, among other projects in pre-production.
With thirty years of material culture research, Guy moved forward with a side project of making bespoke historical garments for the discerning Living Historian and national museums. His work can be seen in many historical features & TV shows as well as being featured in the new U.S. Army Museum at Fort Belvoir, VA.
